It's fine and dandy until you have a problem or want to change your flight. Customer relations told me to call reservations, reservations told me to call customer relations and bounced me back and forth like a yo-yo. No one was competent to help me. Took them forever to reply to an email or to even pick up with own phone. When they do, you're on hold forever. They sound annoyed with you rather than being helpful. All they ever say is it's company policy, it's company policy! Well change the company policy then! They obviously don't care about customer service at all!
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! If possible, fly with another airline!!! |

I haven't actually used Aegean Airlines yet, but I am already dissatisfied with the service. Having a monopoly they can just do whatever they want!
My flight from ATH to JTR on June 7 at 14.50 pm was canceled for no apparent reason. Coming in from the US to ATH late in the morning I have to spend the whole day at Athens airport till the night flight. What a wonderful thing to look forward to after a transatlantic flight! My family and friends who will all come in from different destinations will already be in Santorini. We have prebooked dinner at a nice hotel and everyone will be there except my daughter and I. Lovely start for a carefully arranged vacation!
According to my travel agency (Opodo) Aegean Airlines would not cover fees for changing my transatlantic flight nor at least provide tickets to use the airport lounge at Athens airport. Great customer service!
I am not looking forward to my experience with Aegean Airlines. Maybe they will cancel the night flight as well? Then we can spend the night at Athens airport!

| THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE COME ACROSS IN MY LIFE!!! We will never fly with Aegean again! Last year, they changed the dates of our flight and did not even bother to inform us. It is coincidence (and maybe intuition) that I checked the week prior to flying to find out that the flight on Saturday was cancelled. We were told by their customer service they could do nothing about it and we had to fly the day before (on which day we had another flight) – and the most terrifying, that we had to pay for the flights even though it was their error! After a long battle, we managed to get the flights changed, although they charged us admin fees. This year, we decide to give them another chance, simply because Stansted is close to where we live. The on-line booking went “pear-shaped” and booked 2 flights on my husbands name (same person had 2 flights on same day and time)rather than one flight for him and one for me. We tried to explain this to Aegean and they said it was our error and we had to buy another flight. I just wanted to scream!!! The lady at the desk was extremely rude and horrible! If you want piece of mind, never fly with this airline – it may seem cheaper than Olympic but it is a complete headache and, obviously, much more expensive, as the likelihood is you will buy another flight. I will ensure my friends/relatives will NEVER use this airline again!!! Please spread the word about their terrible customer service!!! |

| My flight was delayed nearly 2 hours and I missed the connecting flight. The weather was fine and only flights of this airline were delayed for long time at the airport. More over, they did not compensate at all. This is the worst airline company I have ever used. |

We have recently travelled twice with Aegean on the Athens - Chania route and have found the service to be quick and efficient. Occasionally you may get an old 'Hercules' propellor plane instead of the new jets, but either way there is excellent customer service provided by the smart frienly staff. They even manage to serve you coffee and a snack during the 30 minute flight (45 minutes on the Hercules)and it almost feels like stepping back in time in term of old fashioned personal attention.
Oh, and if it's daylight (and clear) the views on the crossing are breathtaking! Well worth 5 stars.. |
